How to choose a DJ
Choosing the right entertainment for your event is one of the most important decisions you will make when planning your engagement. The right entertainer or entertainment can make your function a huge success. Settling for the wrong entertainer can ruin the event for you and your guests.
- Be careful of “weekend warriors.” These are entertainers working their full time jobs during the week and masquerading as professionals on the week ends.
- Don’t make your entertainment decisions on price alone. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
- Meet with the person who will actually be doing your event. In many cases the larger companies are constantly changing staff, therefore, jeopardizing the consistent quality of their performances. Many times with these larger companies the person who booked your event will not always be the talent who arrives for your engagement. Be confident that you will receive who, and what the company was offering you at the time they secured your deposit.
- Be sure the talent you book is right for you and your guests. Do they have an extensive knowledge of the music you like? Are they familiar with coordinating events? What is there experience and their background?
